The Utterance of Despair in Paradise Forsaken
What mortal cry erupts from depths profound,
When Paradise lies lost beyond recall,
And Angels weep for man's rebellious fall?
'Argh!' thunders forth from souls by torment crowned,
A primal sound that shakes the very ground
Where once sweet Eden's blessed rivers ran.
Now barren wastes stretch far from God's bright plan,
And in that cry, all human grief is found.
O dreadful word that speaks what hearts cannot,
The anguish of a world by sin begot.
