Swift Feet's Odyssey: A Runner's Sonnet
What drives these feet to pound upon the ground,
With rhythmic steps that echo through the air?
Is it mere folly, or a wisdom found
In sweat and toil, a challenge we must bear?
Each stride a battle 'gainst the body's will,
The breath grows labored, muscles start to burn.
Yet onward still we push, up every hill,
Through pain and doubt, what lessons can we learn?
But lo! As miles unfold, the spirit soars,
Endorphins flood, and clarity takes hold.
The mind breaks free from all that it deplores,
In running's rhythm, stories are retold.
So lace thy shoes, and let thy spirit fly,
For in each step, we touch both earth and sky.
