A Celebration of Natal Day

What is this day that dawns with joyous light,

A mark of time, of year 'pon year accrued?

Shall we give thanks for life with mirthful bite,

Or wonder in silence, pensive and subdued?

Each fleeting smile, a gift to hearts that bide,

For one more year of moments swift yet dear.

Joy grows as friends and kin stand side by side,

Questioning not the sum of days, but cheer.

Now honors sung in harmonies so sweet,

As candles blaze and holder’s wish deny,

Thus time in song and laughter must entreat,

New dreams to forge, and old decay to die.

Now is the time to celebrate in spree,

For every breath is joy, and time is free.
