The Lament of Cedric the Timid Watcher
In Daventry doth Cedric dwell so meek,
A companion through tale of kingly quest,
Yet timid heart did silent courage seek,
Whilst noble Graham progressed at danger’s behest.
By forests deep, the serpent vile did lie,
With fangs of venom and an evil gaze.
And when this foe did cross the owl’s eye,
To Graham’s peril, he'd provide amaze.
“A POISONOUS snake!” cried Cedric in alarm,
Though legs did tremble, wings refused to fly.
For deeds alone, Graham did charm,
While Cedric watched with worry in his eye.
Thus Graham found his foe and fought so well,
While Cedric, fearful, said his fateful yell.
